Official scheme conditions

The rules, as printed on the ticket

Summarised from the Government of Punjab scheme for this draw. Worth reading before you buy or claim.

Tickets and series

36,00,000 tickets in total across twelve series — Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces — numbered 700000 to 999999, three lakh tickets in each series.

How the draw works

The 1st prize is drawn out of sold tickets only. The rest of the prizes are drawn out of the total tickets in the scheme.

Face value of a ticket

Face value is MRP minus GST minus the discount approved in the scheme. Printed MRP is ₹500.

Claiming a prize — the 30-day deadline

Prize-winning tickets must reach the Directorate of Small Savings, Banking and Lotteries, Punjab — Vit Te Yojana Bhawan, Plot No. 2B, Sector-33A, Chandigarh — on the prescribed application form, within 30 days of the result being published in the Punjab State Government Gazette. You can submit in person, through a nationalised bank, by registered post, or by insured parcel.

If a claim does not reach the Directorate inside 30 days, the winner’s right to claim is extinguished under the Punjab State Lotteries Rules, 2015. TDS is deducted at source when payments are made.

Prizes up to ₹10,000

These can be disbursed directly by the seller or sub-agent within 30 days of the result being notified, on behalf of the Directorate.

Checking tickets before sale

Sub-agents and sellers are advised to check that printing and numbering are correct before selling, and buyers should do the same before purchasing. Defective tickets must not be sold to the public and should be returned to the issuing authority immediately.

Damaged, forged or tampered tickets

A ticket that is forged, torn, mutilated or tampered with will not be entertained for a claim.

Payment and one prize per ticket

Payment is made to the prize winner on presentation of the original prize-winning ticket. Each ticket is entitled to only one prize — the highest prize drawn against it.

Jurisdiction and disputes

Legal jurisdiction for this lottery is only at Chandigarh. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Directorate of Small Savings, Banking and Lotteries, Punjab, is final and binding.

Results, date changes and winners abroad

Check the result against the Punjab State Government Gazette notification. The Government reserves the right to change the date of the draw. A prize-winning ticket holder abroad is paid in Indian currency. Buyers should ensure they have physical possession of the ticket.
